The program Elves automates most steps of data processing and phasing by providing a fast and easy-to-use interface to a number of crystallography programs. It can significantly reduce the time required for successful structure determination, and for some structures it can go from raw diffraction images to a correctly phased map with no manual intervention.

Elves was developed by James Holton for his PhD thesis. It is still under active development and is one of the primary tools used at ALS Beamline 8.3.1. Elves is freely available to academic users; commercial users will need to obtain a license from the university.

For more information visit the Elves home page.
